Fish bite at First Light

First Light Sportfishing

Come experience the excitment of sportfishing on board First Light. First Light is a fully equipped down-east styple bass boat that was designed to fish New England waters safely and comfortably. She is out fitted with the latest electronic gear and tackle to provide a productive and exciting fishing trip.

First Light has been sailing from the Mystic River since her commissioning in 1987. Over the years she has demonstrated her ability to be a good sea boat that consistently raises fish.

First Light leaves her slip at the Noank Shipyard most nights and early mornings in search of trophy stripers. She also stands ready to steam offshore of Block Island or Montauk Point for Shark and Tuna whenever there is a solid presence of this fishery.

The mission of our Sportfishing at First Light is to hold two things of greatest importance...CATCH FISH and HAVE A GOOD TIME in the process. The Captain and Crew will never compromise in either area.

Big Game fishing for SHARK, TUNA and MARLIN, over the last few years has been most productive in the crystal clear blue offshore waters of the Atlantic. Some 30 to 50 miles beyond Block Island and Montauk, RI is where we start hunting for these "deep sea marvels of the ocean." Because of the long distance offshore, unpredictability of both the weather and abundance of Big Game fish, Captain Bob schedules and plans his blue water offshore adventures on a price by request basis.
