John Andersen
John has also been able to balance the world of educating youth and working on the sea. John worked the deck of First Light with Bob for the last six summers. During the school year John has worked at Raymond Hill School as a teaching assistant in a high school classroom. John worked with the science teacher in the maritime education center. John has spent many late hours in the Marine Science Lab preparing lessons for the high school elective that he taught last year. John is currently the after school Coordinator at Raymond Hill School working with middle school students.

Bob Romeo
Bob has owned and operated First Light Charters since 1985, and had held a U.S. Coast Guard Captains License since that time. Bob's 22 years as a professional captain has given him extensive local knowledge of Long Island Sound and the world of commerical fishing. In addition to many years of sea service as a mariner, Bob has two Connecticut State Department of Education certifications. One is in school counseling and the second is in administration and supervision. Bob has held both certifications for the last fifteen years. Bob's unique career balance blends a passion for helping to education young men and women and working along with Mother Nature. Bob is the Assistant Director of Education at Raymond Hill School. He oversees both the vocational and maritime education programs there.

Geoff Johnson
Geoff is a graduate of Sound School. His area of interest and studies focused on aquaculture. In addition to Geoff's marine biology experience he also completed and intership in mechanical and rigging work on the "Amistad" in Mystic. Geoff is also currently employed at Raymond Hill School as a Maritime Education Instructor. Geoff's responsibilities include the care and feeding of all the animals in the lab as well as the mechanical service of all the aquariums. Geoff teaches students of all ages; he has been very successful in making learning science fun and activity based.
