First Light has been committed to helping students learn more about Long Island Sound and the biology that exists in and around it.
In the summer of 2008, we have collarborated with a Boy Scout troop in New Long County to provide affordable marine science programs to some local scouts.
in order to share educational experiences with inner city youth, who may not have access to marine science programs, three private non-profit residential schools, one in New Britain, one in Cromwell and one in Hamden, CT partnered with First Light in 2008
Youth Service in Lyme, CT has worked with First Light in the "take a kid fishing" program.
